The FPGA design competition at FPT22 will be held in a separate venue at Okayama University, Japan, and the competition will be real-time broadcasted through the conference virtual platform. The theme is Autonomous Vehicle Driving using FPGAs. The basic rules on the autonomous vehicle and the road layout and specifications will be the same as in past years. Each developed miniature car which is controlled by an FPGA will run on miniature roads while clearing some assignments. Although the design competition is a physical design competition, in this year, we will support remote attendance. Teams who cannot travel to the venue will attend remotely by Zoom or similar. Participants have to send their vehicles in prior to the conference date, and they have to run autonomously. Further details can be found on the Design Competition website.

Design competition paper:

  • Papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format, following the IEEE style.
  • Papers must not exceed 4 pages in length.
  • All accepted papers will appear in the published FPT’22 proceedings and IEEE Xplore.
